CONNECTME
We collaborate with social enterprises to understand their business goals, and together design a 3 to 6 week project that meets those needs. To implement the project, we recruit and provide support to driven and talented volunteer interns who want to earn work experience while creating positive change.

Our projects
In 2019, we collaborated with GenSpeak - an organisation of inspiring individuals who make apps and hold events with the goal to bridge cultural gaps and “Connect People Through Language”.
GenSpeak aimed to address the cultural gap which exists in universities, between international and domestic students. They believe when more people can engage in deep and meaningful conversations, we can help create stronger communities.
JCI Eastern’s project managers and volunteer interns played a key role in conducting research and leading workshops over a 6-week period from July to August, including survey responses from approximately 100 students from universities across Victoria and interstate. We were able to collect a rich database of qualitative information, helped GenSpeak gain a deeper insight of students’ culture and mindsets, and provide possible solutions which can address the cultural gap.
